Lol bet u haven't even left the state of Louisiana

I've never even left the beautiful metropolis of Westwego! I'm so ignorant of the world it hurts!

I'm going to plan a vacation in Zimbabwe soon! It's not a shithole bc there is some nice natural scenery and since I've never been there I have to assume it's safe and lovely.

You type it out sarcastically but it's actually true. I don't think you are aware of how places outside your bubble truly are. But live your life in fear if that's what you do best.

I said nothing about Mexico being a third world country or being avoided, Cancun is awesome. I saw two lesbians from Vegas strip and scissor each other one time at a bar on the water called Basic.

eople go to that shite hole because it is an exotic destination that caters to a cheap budget. Along with the DR and Jamaica, it is where the poorer element of tourists go to say they have been to a tropical out of country destination. They really have few options in the Caribbean that they can afford other than these 3 locations. And this segment of people are usually to ignorant and lazy to research better options. Cancun is often times the only place they have ever heard of and becomes their dream destination. Going to Cancun is like a rite of passage to many rednecks in the US. And I say that as a Southern semi redneck myself. The overwhelming majority of families in my area know three vacation destinations. Panama City Beach, Cancun, or a trashy cruise that stops in Cancun. Most of these people have never even heard of Naples much less a Grand Caymen or St Lucia.

Lmao if you saw the place we were staying at you wouldnt say trashy. Im sure its better than the cheapest place you are staying at in grand caymen which is over rated to begin with

A friend of mine spent a week in Mexican prison because they found a bullet in his carry on. Apparently they use situations like his to take advantage of tourists and make money. The lawyer his family hired specialized in cases like his because it's so prevalent.

Do you mean Naples, FL? Live here and wasn't aware this was an exotic getaway. I mean, it's nice, but...

Headed to Isla Mujeres in 28 days and Cabo in October. Not worried one bit. Isla is perfectly safe. I just have to make it from the airport to the ferry.

I typed it out sarcastically bc it's not true. I don't even live in Louisiana. I don't live in fear. I also don't travel to shithole countries when there are other options. Of course the resorts are nice and of course Mexico has nice beaches. So what? It's still third world. Even North Korea or Sudan has nice natural scenery. There is a civil war going on, and you're relying on some unwritten gentlemens agreement amongst the cartels that they'll leave tourists alone? If you have a medical emergency, you're fricked. If you have any unforeseen problems, you're fricked.

And it's odd to hear you adventurous baws pretend to be authorities on Mexico and act like Cancun isn't "real Mexico" when y'all just sit in a secure all-inclusive resort. Why don't you go for a cross country drive through Mexico and let me know how lovely it all is.

Some random dude came running out of the shadows with a cigar box full of weed trying to sell it to us. He literally seemed to be camping in the shadows waiting for tourists.

What resort was this so I can... avoid it?

No. Naples,Ethiopia. Of course I mean Naples, Florida. I didn't claim that it is exotic. Just one of many places that doesnt have a trashy tourism industry.

Grand Cayman is a much safer place that NEVER has 75/25 ratio of trashy/non-trashy that Cancun has. The all inclusive you stay at is a dime a dozen resort that caters to any redneck making 50k a year by making their margins on volume. Same model as Jamaica and DR resorts. Grand Caymen is not even close to the best island in the Caribbean but I used it as an example because it is an affordable alternative to the shite hole Cancun. I have been to 12 Caribbean destinations and yes, I went to Cancun in my early 20s. Been to DR and Jamaica as well and they all suck compared to places like St Bart's, The Grenadines, Barbados, Anguilla, Antigua, etc.. Grand Cayman and St Lucia are not as nice as the ones listed above but they are better than trashy Cancun.
