This guy has a masters in economics?
Should we raise minimum wage to adjust for inflation?
LINK
So in less than a year you went from basically making nothing to 400k a year. Also, per your posts, got a 100k raise in like a month.
700k income to 1.1 million and you cant seem to do anything
LINK
Make over 700k combined income at that time and cant afford a house.
Your post history is just very bizarre. Its almost like you won the lottery one day

Recently looking at houses and the places with good schools that look like what we want/ new is out of our budget. There is one in a less desirable (yet still safe etc) neighborhood that’s in our budget, knocked down a old house and built a nice new one but it’s the first nice house in that street.

Many employees will receive a 25% wage increase as a result of the new law. California is one of the most expensive states in the country to live in. And more than half of its employees work in the fast-food industry.
More than half of the workforce in California is employed in the fast food industry?

Our government seems to think so, and they're happy spending money they don't have and isn't coming out of their pockets.
BINGO.
The fact that so many think that an institution that has no money of it's own and is under no requirement to spend less than they bring in is the height of absurdity. It's why private industry is ALWAYS more effective and will evolve faster than govt run...because private industry has their own money, futures, and livelihoods invested while the government has no accountability and your money invested. When they frick up or waste it they will take even more from you to make up for it.
We're seeing this case study play out in real time and it's not pretty.

Probably 35 and make around $200,000 and can’t understand why you feel you are barely getting by. Angry at boomers who made a lot less but sacrificed, saved and built a comfortable retirement

Good old California...the land of fruits and nuts, for sure!

Exactly but let’s see how it plays out. A lot of those individuals will be out of a job and on unemployment, who pays that, hummm, yep. Also store sales will be down across the board because average family can’t afford an $18 Big Mac. I can see what they were aiming for but not sure it was really thought through all the way. Sometimes unintended consequences even when trying to do something good turn out really bad, and I think some of that will happen here for sure.

A couple of weeks ago my local (Bay Area) Chick-fil-A jacked up prices a surprising amount. Usually an item will go up a small amount every once in a while, but the price of my regular meal went up several dollars, and the price was already pretty high. I was baffled until I learned a few days ago about the new minimum wage for fast food workers.
The two-lane drive-through line hasn't shrunk one bit,
and I still order the same meal. So at least in this very high wage area, lazy people like me will continue to pay these shocking prices for fast food. At least Chick-fil-A is good quality fast food.
In the many parts of Cali that are not high-wage tech centers, I can imagine this will have a bigger effect on business.

New fast food jobs created by progressive minimum wage laws.
