MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A Neville student who was hit by a vehicle while riding her skateboard Tuesday evening has passed away, according to Monroe police.

The student was identified as 15-year-old sophomore Ashley Dorsey in a post made by Neville High School on Wednesday morning.

According to investigators, the incident happened on Park Avenue near Eason Place at approximately 6:50 p.m. Tuesday evening.

The vehicle involved is described as either a black 4x4 pick-up truck, possibly a Dodge Ram or a white SUV type vehicle, possibly a Ford Explorer. The vehicle will have a damaged right front headlight and damage to the front grill area, investigators say.

Neighbors are pleading for whoever is responsible to come forward.

“Whoever did this, whatever reason, accident, regardless come be accountable for it. It’s going to be worse if the police have to find someone rather than them to have hung around,” said John Strickland.

Area residents are asked to check their cameras for any video they might have around the time of the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Monroe Police Department at 318-329-2600 or the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-329-1200.

Likely no one saw the collision, those were just vehicles that were seen in the area.

Hence 2 vehicles that look nothing alike. Probably vehicles of interest caught on film about the time of the incident.

I'd imagine they were both near the scene and witnesses don't know which one hit her.

I'd like to say they'll catch them when the driver brings it in to get fixed, but there was a hit and run outside our office that I dont know how the car was even drivable. They fled the scene and haven't turned up yet.

The picture shows what appears to be a white SUV. Police say the vehicle should have front passenger side damage to it. Police say the video quality is not clear enough to make a determination of the make and model of the vehicle, but hope that this image will help find the suspect.

I've stared at that photo for 5 minutes now and I don't have the slightest idea what it might be. Hopefully someone can come up with a better one so they can find this POS.

At a glance I thought it was a BMW SUV or a Porsche Cayenne

Sorry for a stupid question, what is the red arrow pointing at here? Is the vehicle under the red arrow or is the vehicle in question the one in the front and to the left.

I assume it's the vehicle being pointed at obviously, but just checking because OP picture didn't show.

Could make a case it’s a minivan or one of dozens of suv’s

ps - need moar camera action from the area. Perp has to pass several cams on the way in or out the area.
