The person you are describing here was more than likely a person to avoid before she had kids. Having kids rarely makes a good person a bad one. Kids make good people better and shitty people worse. Pretty simple.
If you can find a good single mom she likely has her stuff together, money, a house, etc. You shouldn’t paint with such a broad brush

Man you sound like a miserable guy. My grandma struggled raising my dad then eventually found a father figure to teach him the right way. My dad said he was headed for prison or death until his stepdad came into his life. OP you just had a bad experience

Having been married, divorced, and involved in more short term relationships than I can count, my advice to never date into such situations. Far too much hassle unless your lady friend is amazing.
