Are you saying they couldn't do that under title II....if so you are the moron. Title II is what killed NN. It wasn't fast lanes, zero rated data, or anything like that.

woot capitalism wins
hell even if the repeal of net neutrality goes bad, it'll make people do stuff in the real world that doesn't involve the internet
it's a win win. society improves either way

Just another Thursday.
They believe in this liberal conspiracy so much, that they act against their own self interests. It's equally sad and scary.
And it's literally the same companies that they cry about over "Fake News."

And I'm sure nothing anyone could say would change that. Except maybe your God Emperor

That's not necessarily true....it is probably true of anyone on Tigerdroppings.com though.

It isn't capitalism that "won."
Since when is the internet not the real world? It's not like it's make believe.

I'm saying you are a fricking moron, and as evidence I present to you your own words that I have quoted for you twice now.
You continue to exhibit an incredible ignorance about this topic despite trying to argue with people about it. It's really not a good look.

Can anyone tell me what this means for those of us who play games like Battlefield or Call of Duty online?
Posted on 12/14/17 at 4:12 pm to TH03
You're not real TH03. I'm having a make believe conversation with you right now

Everything I typed is true there old son.
What the bad look is people that come in here thinking they are tech savvy and know this problem inside and out....this isn't a tech problem this is a business and economic problem.
So this will be my last response to you I hope you can educate yourself on the issue. Although I'm sure you will continue to do the status quo on the issue. I am glad that folks like you didn't influence the decision.

It could possibly slow down your internet speed to games unless you pay for a fast lane so your access isnt throttled

Online gaming is more dependent on ping instead of bandwidth. The packets sent are very small.

Quoting myself from the cesspool of the Political board:
One potential scenario could easily be that at some point in the future Sony or Microsoft could seek to cut a deal with your regional definition high speed broadband ISP, if you have more than one option, which half the country doesn’t, maybe cut a deal with them as well. A deal that they alone will get a fast lane and their competitor will be left at a disadvantage. Maybe the agreement the ISP even pays to throttle the competitor.
Or maybe both just have to pay up to the ISP to not get throttled. Then they pay for those ransoms by raising online monthly rates on consumers. So your paying more for your isp because it’s often a regional monopoly, and now you pay more for Xbox Live or whatever as well. Just so the middle man ISP can get more money for their shareholders and bolster corporate profits.
When former Verizon lawyer Ajit Pai talks about "innovation" companies like those he represents, that is the sort of shite he is really talking about. Cable companies and ISP's int spend millions annually and work tirelessly to get a corporate shill like Ajit head of the FCC to not cash in eventually. When and how they will do it is unknowable, but we do know that pre-NN many ISP's were slowly dipping their toes into using their gatekeeper position to extort companies and consumers in that broad way.

ISP can still degrade your ability to connect to a gaming server...

ok. capitalism came out on top. the free market has prevailed. less government involvement is a good thing

the definition of real world I was using is the non digital environment around you
sitting in front of a computer screen or smart device screen is detrimental to society. people should interact face to face and engage with the environment around them
Look up

Obviously nothing is certain right now. But they now have the ability to either throttle, or charge extra for online gaming. They didn't yesterday, it would've been illegal to discriminate against data. But now, they could if they wanted to earn more profit.
