My nephew who just finished the 4th grade and a huge Braves fan. He and his mom showed up two hours early to get signatures. He brought along with him two baseballs. Well he didn't have much luck but the Braves won.

My sister said he was crying. He was so upset.

So on Sunday he paid out of his wallet $50 to go down and try again.

He ended up getting the Braves 3rd base coach autograph. And he was thrilled. Thrilled over a 3rd base coach!

When my sister told me all this I felt so sad for the kid. Heck he brought 2 balls!

As a lifetime baseball fan I know how serious it is to get a signature from a player.

I know you think you and your family’s life is important, but it’s not.

I know how he feels.

Held my hat out for 30 minutes when I was 8 or 9 at the Zurich for Phil Mickleson to sign. a-hole signed all but mine.

Never liked him since

How many fat middle aged men did he have to fight for that 3B coach’s autograph?

Same thing happened to me when I was a 9-10 year old kid. Got there early for BP. No one would come over and sign. Yelled and yelled for Chipper Jones. He wouldn’t even turn around. Second day ended up getting a couple of bench guys-Mike Mordecai and Terrell Wade

I was lucky enough to be on the same little league team as Bruce Sutter's kid, so at the end of the season we all got autographed balls from Bruce. And when we won our little league championship, we all got an autographed ball from all of the 1987 braves. I still have it. It is a treasure to me.

Had no idea this was a thing until going to a Rangers game two or three years ago. It was nice, and the seats were great. Left field lower deck, right by the bullpen.

When I was a kid in Houston, I thought I saw Jose Cruz at the grocery and asked him to autograph a cereal box. Mr. Hector Martinez was more than happy to sign it.

From what I've seen at games, the players are more than happy to sign for the kids, but they sort of have to be quasi-obnoxious to get their attention because there are usually a lot of them there and there's limited time. Plus, they unfortunately have to deal with the grown arse men with no situational awareness who want their stuff signed as well.

I went to Cubs @ Braves on May 12th. First Braves game since 1976.

I bought $44 in tickets for the 50/50 raffle and won a custom jersey. No crying here.

Best way to get autographs from players. Find the hottest blonde and get your kid to stand right next to her.
