The bad thing is that the people in her movement don't care how stupid she is, and you don't worry about them untill your're a university president looking for a job.

Regardless, the effective tax rate does not include social sec, Medicare, state, municipal or property taxes. To even begin a discussion vis-a-vis "The Top 1% Can Pay" is disingenuous.

I want her to go to a pole too, but one within driving distance of my apartment since that's all she's good for.

Yes, but FICA taxes will hurt the ETR more of the 99% than it would the 1% since SS (the big one at 6.2%) caps at $118,000 though Medicare goes up slightly (.9% income > $200,000). There's a good chance that state and municipal could make up the difference. I'm not sure how property taxes or anything of that nature fit into that argument as that is a personal choice to be living those means.

Struggling middle class she says

Eta: I would SJW-shame her and then IWHI easily because she hasn't ever had a guy put her in her place.

$100 says she gets married within 5 years and starts being a good non-SJW stay at home mom

For the life of me I don't understand why business majors in college have to take English courses but Liberal Arts majors rarely have to take basic ECON courses. Don't they want to know why they are making the money they are? Don't they care?

My understanding of why they require me to take a literature class is because they need students to attend to justify having a literature department. No other college in the state requires literature for my degree

You are such a dense fricking dolt.

1) I didn't say literature.
2) The point is that ALL students, regardless of major, should have to take ECON courses. Assuming they leave college and enter the workplace they need to have an understanding of the econ. forces at work.
3) Your degree, and which colleges require or don't require literature, is totally irrelevant.

Moron.

Have a good day.

Why are threads like this allowed in the OT lounge? Take this crap to the Political Talk board or the Money Talk board.

we've got a few.

A former Aggie (very pronounced TexAgger) was leading the charge on the HERO crap that got voted down earlier this month in Houston. Great guy in all honesty, but i lost a lot of respect for him during that election cycle.
