The Nextdoor App has made me grateful I don't socialize with many people in my neighborhood.
I did witness a guy get arrested on there though. He was offering trapping services for folks that had squirrells or raccoons in their attic or on their property. Problem was he didn't have a license to do that and a sheriff's deputy politely told him so. Guy smarted off to the deputy and kept offering his services. A few weeks later he accused someone of NARCing on him.

Yes we have lakes in our neighborhood and there was this long thread about how kids should not be fishing in the lakes. Went back and forth between parents and people who obviously either never fished or had children.
Also the ducks in the lakes were a nuisance and should be removed. Endless arguments between the woman (who is a nut) arguing against the ducks and the duck supporters.
Lately it has been reckless teenage drivers either driving too fast, erratically or in the green zones tearing up the grass.

We've had a damn outbreak of snakes in our hoods. Every day there are 2-3 more "what kind of snek is this?!" posts on the nextdoor page.
Well yesterday, some baw one-upped us all. Said his wife was moving out. Because two GDCKs were bumping uglies in his ceiling and fell down into his master bathtub. Posted pics and all

Our hood is pretty chill for about 4 months then something just blows up. a lady got an HOA letter for having her boat in the front of her house- which led to her posting the letter and being upset about it. Her calling out people thats yards looked like shite-to a guy taking it personal and going scorched earth on everyone... it was a pretty good melt.

I follow two of them and this is how it is for the most part except they don't allow the Avon and MLM crap.
Lot's of crap about coons and coyote sightings. Occasional nimrod old lady will complain that she has a duck in her back yard and doesn't know what to do.
Probably the best resource it's for is helping people find their lost pets and warning of door to door salesmen in the area.
One funny about six months ago was when one of the miserable old counts went to complain about some people coming and taking stuff out of her garbage. She referred to them as Latins. She was made fun of for a week for that one.

Half the people in my neighborhood probably doesn't even know how how to turn on a computer. A lot of old people live in it. The other half I wouldn't know whether or not they even have a neighborhood group.. Since I don't have a FB account.
