i think this part of his OP is going ignored a bit. OP has a fricking dirt arse side yard thats "aerated" and "about to be seeded".

but is now starting to come back together even though the grass is not there it is regradedd, aerated, and ready to seed which I am doing in the next week or so.

Sounds like you've already decided to let him do this.

He ended up catching an attitude when I went over to talk with him about it this morning so my answer went from "Sorry man I'm really not comfortable with the trucks going over my yard" to "frick no and go frick yourself". He was getting ridiculous, swatted at the ground with his shovel to show me how hard it was and was acting like I'm some a-hole for making him come up with another plan. Honestly made my decision easier as the only reason I was on the fence was because I did like the guy, but if hes gonna act like this over getting told no for a favor my opinion of him has changed.

Very much enjoyed the responses here though they were vindicating.

This afternoon, go knock on his door and ask him for a cup of flour.

Well, good fences make for good neighbors.

I see a new fence in your future.

Yeah frick him, it’s not your project, figure out a way to do it yourself or don’t do it, this isn’t hard.

These people are also the ones that would immediately tell you to get fricked if you asked to burrow a rake or something as well

You should have grabbed the shovel and went strike it on his driveway. Then turned to him and said see how hard your driveway is?

Last summer/fall our neighbor built a pool. He's on 1 street and we're 1 street over on the cul-de-sac. He has a long, tight and twisty driveway. He asked it the could take a section of fence down and run a hose to shoot the final layer of concrete on to the pool. Having tried to maneuver trucks and trailers around in spaces like that, of course we said yes.

But the difference is, the concrete trucks never came on our property. They just ran the hose over to the pool. They were done in a couple of hours, and it was seamless for all involved. Had they asked to do what yours asked to, I would have said no as well.

We are in this process now. I asked my neighbor if they could go on his property with the smaller excavator. I told him I would put plywood down as to not crush his drain line and repair any damages. He is an older man and told me we could also pump our water into the drain in his yard. He has been very good during this.

This is the crazy thing I have never balked at him using my yard in the past, driving trucks and trailers over it while they were doing repairs or building their shop. I thought when I told him I was uncomfortable about the cement truck he would take that into account, just respect my saying no and find another option. The way he is acting over this is just ridiculous and unexpected

Is his new slab going to mess up your drainage?

That happened to me in Houston (flat, flat Houston) and all the rain that fell on the property in back of mine then had to drain out through my yard. I doubt that his contractor has sloped this to run out and off of his property through his property.

Fuss now or regret later.

I suggest that you park your vehicles in such a way that he cannot engage in a little self help and have the truck drive over your yard even though you told him no.

It is just dirt.

This may be the neighbor’s attitude towards repairing your lawn.

I would not agree to the concrete truck driving through your yard.

If the contractor is saying they will fix your yard then they can also fix his driveway if they crack it.
