He has asked if the trucks could pass through my front yard to avoid going over his current driveway and possibly cracking it.
I’d tell him to go frick himself.

They won’t fix it to your satisfaction.

Y’all sure is picky about stuff you don’t even use and serves no purpose. A yard is just a waste of space and resource drain.
The only reason I have one is they wouldn’t just sell the house. It was a package deal.
Luckily, there’s not much grass to mow. Maybe 25 minutes every 3-4 weeks.
My dumb neighbor wastes hours every week in his. Sucker!

OP's yard with concrete truck.
btw-A loaded concrete truck is going to be closer to 80k pounds than the 40k mentioned previously.

Not sure why his contractor can't guarantee him he will fix the driveway if it cracks. All that shite should be between homeowner and contractor. Sounds like contractor is doing the urging.

I had concrete poured in my backyard last May to extend to the current patio I had. They used a buggy and fricked up my grass tremendously. It is just now getting back to not looking completely like shite. This was a buggy and not a truck. Granted they were going back and forth from the cement truck but I cringed watching my yard get eaten up.

Unless the price of boof pumps has gone up a lot since I rented the last one at $500 for a buggy he might break even or come out ahead given the extra labor. That buggy is going to take over 50 trips to move 30 yards.
I do agree with the poster that said you don't owe him any more than a yes or no at the same time if you can offer the man a solution that is as good or better for both of you it is the neighborly thing to do and may prevent a rift that is never good when people share a property line.

Dude. Your neighbor has some pretty selfish assumptions about neighborly cooperation.

Because he knows a loaded concrete truck will crack a residential concrete driveway and he isn't going to give the guy a new one.

He should tell him to get 30 concrete by the yard trucks to lessen the weight

Yeah...there's no "fixing ruts" without redoing a huge section of the lawn. My guess is the contractor "fixing ruts" would mean tossing some fill dirt into the ruts and walking away. Enjoy the newly uneven yard plus weeds.
I like being a good guy and cordial neighbor, but there's ZERO chance I'd be ok with this, and honestly if your neighbor saw you work on your yard given all the stuff you've described and he STILL ASKED you to do this, than he's a dick.

A concrete contractor would NEVER make any proper repairs to your yard. They might say they will, but they’ll be in and out never to be seen again. They’re all backed up and trying to catch up. They don’t have time for repairs. Those trucks will absolutely destroy your yard regardless of how dry it is. Tell your neighbor to rent a front end loader or skid steer.

You got any utilities under that grass?
Driving a fully loaded concrete truck on grass is a good way to break water/sewer/gas pipes.

So your neighbor asked if the concrete trucks could damage your property so they wouldn’t damage his property?
What the hell. Tell him to frick off , seriously.
That is a completely unreasonable request.

You are correct, I did the math in my head for 8 yards of wet concrete and somehow only added 5 tons for the truck itself.

Not even a slight chance id consider letting him do this. What a dickhead thing to ask of your neighbor. Its HIS project, its HIS problem.

That would be the best way to toss it back at the guy.

Correct.
12 years or so ago they developed a neighborhood next to our, and our property being on the corner meant the utilities companies needed to dig up my yard to run various lines. When we built, we had spent a ton on soil and laid down Palmetto St. Aug. It had been down about a year and looked fantastic. When I complained they assured me they'd fix it. This is what those frick heads left...
Photo was taken in April, so the grass hadn't really gotten kicked back up again. I attempted to fill ruts with better soil after I took this photo and patched it with new St. Aug, and despite that TO THIS DAY that corner of the yard STILL has ruts and before long that section ended up being taken over by Centipede, Every time I cut the grass, I curse when I do the front yard.

Tell him to get a concrete pump truck. Pump it from the street. No yard damage,no driveway damage. Just damage to his wallet.
The other guys contractor will frick you.
