Check out the Genesis G70. Sporty, fast, reliable, etc.
That’s what I had my mind set on but the 3.3 T gets less than 19 MPG city.
22MPG city I get 100% of my gas paid. Getting 85% now and it’s costing me around $65 per month.

Get the 2.0T then. Not ideal but works within your parameters

My last four cars have been TL/TLXs. I travel a ton for work, never had a problem except typical maintenance.

I was reading something today about how Subaru is having trouble moving the Legacy sedan. Apparently there's a Legacy XT model with a motor similar to the one in a WRX. Starts at $36,000 and change MSRP. I'd probably look at one of those. Apparently it misses the market sweet spot, but people are pretty idiotic. I think a brand new Legacy with a turbo must be a pretty wicked vehicle.
ETA if Subaru still makes a WRX hatchback (or made one in recent memory) then that's two different oddball Subarus I learned about today

I want that 3.3 bad because I’ll spend most my time in it but I’ve got 2021 X5M to get my thrills in. I hate driving a boring arse car though

I’ve got an A5 Sportback that I love. A couple year old model may fit what you’re looking for

I have a Toyota Corolla that gets 42mpg.

I hear ya. I want to get a new C8 Vette but it’s at least a year wait and may be a little too flashy for my taste.

I went from an Infiniti G to a Lexus E350 doing significant mileage for work and have been very happy with it. Great ride on the interstate, comfortable, quiet, and the features you expect. I’ve already decided to buy another Lexus when this one is done. Also takes regular fuel. Love it. Infiniti was sportier and more fun to drive probably, but no ragrets

I would consider a Dodge Durango. I have one as a business car and like it a heck of a lot. You can get a damn nice one for $40K. Mine has averaged 23.8 MPG in the 3 years I have had it.
