Pretty straight forward question-My son is as blind as a bat but isn't ready for contacts. Need some recommendations on what your kid uses and/or what I need to know while searching.
I'm thinking something relatively frameless and that won't fog up....but I'm not interested in spending $300 either. (Although I'm sure it would be a good investment since he will obviously be invited to play travel ball and then get a D1 scholarship offer)

My son wears Rec Specs with the strap. They work for football as well.
When you buy them pay a little extra and get the antifog glasses. It is something they put on or in the glass.
Also, at the end of every game or practice clean the glasses with some anti fog spray.
The best brand of spray is called Cat Crap carried at the Walmart optical section, or Academy has some good anti fog spray in the gun section.

I had some I used for racquetball back in the day. You’re welcome to have them.

Wore them as a kid and this is spot on. Only thing I would ad is to buy extra straps and clean them often as they will get real funky

This. From experience, wearing glasses while playing football sucks.

1. Go to Sams
2. Set up a table and signs
3. Give your son a can and have him walk around without glasses bumping into shite
4. Profit

Hope your son doesn’t injure his eyes because dad didn’t want to pay a extra few bucks for decent glasses. Be sure to get a safety lens so he doesn’t lose his eyes.

Before you spec his specs, tell his mother to get the butt cut hairdo and slap a 30A sticker on her SUV’s back window on the passenger side so your stick figure family on the driver’s side can have some space.
Am I doing this right?

Man that kid is going to be made fun of so hard for his “sports goggles.”

That's nothing compared to what you are going to spend on therapy after he has to endure a season of his teammates calling him Chris Gaybo

You can get prescription lenses for Oakley frames. Check their website or an Oakley store

Why isn't he ready for contacts? They make one-a-day contacts now that require 0 responsibility. If he isn't a hell of a athlete I imagine he will get ragged on pretty hard for goggles.
