need a new roof, whats the best place to call right now

looks like my roof took a hit from this week's hail and storm, got to get the new roof in before insurance says its too old to claim. whats the best place to call?

Try Atlas Roofing in New Orleans area. I think they do Baton Rouge roofs too. A good friend of mine owns and operates it. He's reliable and won't screw you over. He'll do a great job.

If you do not know a reputable contractor, I would call Lowes and ask them for a couple contractor names. Take my advice get a good one. I have a roof that is 4 years old and I had shingles everywhere with only about 40 mile winds. My new contractor said the roofing shingles were nailed wrong. Probably with nail gun in the hands of someone that did not know where to nail a shingle to roof. I have had other people say the same. You pay for what you get.

I would turn it in to the insurance company and they may have a program that allows a contractor that they can recommend to fix your roof and you not have to deal with it. Not to mention it will come with a workmanship guarantee.

some roofers will inflate the estimate to cover the entire thing - or so I've heard.

I’m not sure if it does any good to try and get your own assessment of the damage before calling them (insurance baws will have to chime in) but I would certainly to want to know what they will pay before talking through new roof options with a contractor.
