The nation’s average price of gasoline has risen 17.2 cents over the last week and stands at $4.25 per gallon, according to GasBuddy® data compiled from more than 12 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. The national average is up 19.0 cents from a month ago and is $1.14 per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel rose 31.6 cents in the last week and stands at $6.183 per gallon.

“Average gasoline and diesel prices rose in every state over the last week as geopolitical tensions escalated on multiple fronts, with friction between the U.S. and Iran, new hostilities in the Red Sea, and the shutdown of Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline all combining to jolt prices sharply higher,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “New weekend attacks also knocked two additional Russian refineries offline, further straining global refined product supplies and likely offsetting any seasonal relief. Diesel prices could climb even faster in the wake of the new refinery attacks. While most of the country transitions to cheaper winter-blend gasoline this week, the scale of ongoing geopolitical escalations makes meaningful price relief unlikely in the near term.”

In early Monday trade, WTI was up $3.18 to $103.23 per barrel, well above last Monday’s $93.65, while Brent gained $3.68 to $108.29 compared to $98.52 a week ago—both benchmarks now at four-month highs and closing in on the $114 peak hit in March, with the IEA warning that surging prices have already triggered the largest contraction in global oil demand since the Covid pandemic.

Refineries are already at 98% capacity

Imagine if Cali didn't frick around and basically force two large refineries to close this year

Trump should federalize those refineries in Cali and reopen them

That’s cool and all, but who do we blame for the Cowboys losing their season opener?

POLITICO on Google

SACRAMENTO, California — A top California energy regulator said he’s open to working with the Trump administration to keep the state’s struggling oil refineries open — while also slamming the administration’s efforts to restart offshore oil production and buy out offshore wind leases.

California is “very focused” on maintaining refinery capacity, said California Energy Commission chair David Hochschild on Tuesday at POLITICO’s The California Agenda: Sacramento Summit, signaling rare alignment with the Trump administration on energy policy.

Both California officials and the White House have held conversations with potential investors in the past year after two California refineries announced plans to close, though no deal has been struck.

I remember with the first hit of a cold front getting excited for Founders KBS or Bourbon Barrel Ten Fiddy to arrive at the store.

Yesterday it cost me $38 to fill tank from a little above 1/4 tank left. RAV4. That might be a full fill, but never 3/4 tank.

It's almost the holiday season. It has to be bumped up so that when it's dropped ,50 in November it looks like they really care about the public.
