Just screw with them every time they call and eventually they hang up on you.

I'd recommend posting your phone number here so the experts on the OT can protect it.

Get the HIYA App. It identifies and blocks these assholes when they try and call you. They aggregate the latest telemarketer, scam, and fraudulent telephone numbers real-time so you don't have to worry about these calls anymore. Its simple and easy!

Stop answering unless you know who's calling.

with number spoofing these days, it's practically pointless.

This. If I could find out where the fricks are, it would not be pretty.
I have good news. They're in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, mostly. A few are in Jamaica and Nigeria.
Have fun.

It’s an effective way to build a database of people who willingly gave over their phone numbers so you can sell them crap

Anyone ever got calls from the US Government with someone on the other line that couldn’t speak a lick of English?
The IRS scam? It's one of my favorites. I ask them for very specific details. They always have a generic gringo name, but with a thick subcontinent accent. I clarify, "The United States Internal Revenue Service?" - then I tell them I don't believe them.

Downloaded Hiya at lunch.
It’s already awesome. Looking at my recent calls the last week, it’s identified all the spam ones.

No. I think they use that list to call people. I got more after I signed up.

Literally. I used to jerk them around. It was fun and it kept them away from real victims.
But now I just get a bunch of hangup calls. I quit answering altogether. Also turn my phone off if it gets too bad.
