Will there be a significant impact on the size of the incoming freshmen class at LSU after this amazing football season?

There wasn't any significant impact in prior national championships.
But overall LSU attendance has increased significantly in the past 3 years.

I worked with admissions in the past and this is factually, 100% wrong. Enrollment goes up. Book it.
eta: nope, applicants increase - not enrollment. I misspoke! I was finally wrong about something.

Sorry, I misspoke — APPLICANTS increase dramatically. Not enrollment. Cut me some slack, it’s been a long time since my days working there.

Actually at Alabama enrollment has increased in part due to the football team success
Or so it's been told

Only if there are crappy parents out there who want to increase their child's chances of being a crime victim or stuck in bridge traffic.

Eh, LSU's been a brand name in college football for almost two decades now, and they're a flagship institution in the state of Louisiana.
Any such increases in applicants would be most pronounced at schools who haven't had significant success and who aren't already high-profile schools. I'd like to see the numbers at schools like UCF or some of the private schools like Butler or Baylor.

No, but there will be a significant impact on the number of babies born 9 months from last night.

More out of state tuition for college administrators to waste.

Data might not support it but I have heard from two friends in the past week with kids that want to go to LSU. One from CA and one from upstate NY. I have to believe this is from the coverage of football on TV and them showing the students partying.

Maybe an increase in applications, but LSU is not going to admit more students than they can handle.
It’s not like LSU wasn’t already a football powerhouse.

This was literally Mark E.’s plan on investing in athletics back in 2000 and this is the first I’ve ever seen anyone claim it wasn’t a success.
It’s massive free advertising. Enrollment and enrollee quality improved

A large part of Alabama's increase has come from out of state students

No, but tuition and parking fees will go up.

Not sure on enrollment, but applications to the school will increase. Not sure if perennial winners see increases on the same levels each year, but it has been noted many times how a national championship increases the number of applications thus increasing quality or quantity of enrollment.

quote:This is wrong FWIW. It varies from school to school, but historically National Championships do boost applications, including after LSU's previous two ships. Whether or not the schools accepts the extra applicants is a different metric
