re: Nastiest thing you've ever seen or heard of.

I can think of several things that i would consider really nasty, but I will share the first one I think of.

My brother works for a valve company. This was 6-8 years ago.. But he was on some machine and something from the machine fell on his finger. You ever saw a weenie when you warm it up too long in a microwave? That's what his finger looked like. He had to get the tip of his finger removed, had to get 26 stiches in it and then surgery when it healed, but the top looked like it exploded.

My wife’s grandparents had moved up here to Bossier from Mamou to be closer to their daughter (my MIL). Her grandfather had Alzheimer’s. He had always been a bit of a mean cuss his whole life. The move confused the hell out of him and he became very angry. About the second week they were up here he woke up, ate breakfast at the kitchen table that his wife had cooked him, then went out to a shed behind the house and fetched a hatchet. When he came back in, his wife was sitting in her favorite chair, which faced away from the back door, and was reading the morning paper. He walked up behind her and hit her 3 times in the back of the head with a hatchet. He then proceeded to go get his old service revolver. An old 3 inch .38 he had used years before as a cop in Mamou. Went and sat in his favorite chair and ate a bullet.

Wife’s aunt found them later that day. Once the police and coroner had finished their business and removed the bodies, my MIL and her sister were unsure of what to do next. I told them there were companies they could call that would come “clean” up what was left. They didn’t want strangers in their parents house and asked if I could do it. I didn’t want to but they were adamant about not hiring it out. Finally my wife said she would go do it but no way in hell was I gong to let her go thru that. It was her fricking grandparent for Christ sake.
So I went and did it. It was horrible. Will never get those images out of my head til the day I die. It was a long time before I would even speak to my MIL again for putting me in a position to have to go and do that.

They were in their 70’s and had been married for over 50 years. Very sad and very traumatic for the entire family. This occurred about 20 years ago and to this day, if we are watching a movie and it shows someone shooting themselves, my wife will start crying.

Uncle got called about a neighbor kid getting his arm sucked in and stuck in a wood chipper.

Can’t even imagine having to rush over in that situation.

My list is quiet long but I will post the top 3:

Guy wrecks his car into a tree at a high speed and by the time I got there is was fully engulfed in flames and there was no getting him out.

Older man has a flat on bis truck and pulls to the side of the road and when he got out he stepped into the path of an 18 wheeler. Was a mess.

Guy commits suicide via large caliber firearm. We get there and call coroner and wait outside. Coroner shows and by then it and gotten dark. He walks in and flips on light switch which operates ceiling fan and brain matter flies all over the room and us.
