What you need to be asking is why these events were almost unheard of thirty years ago.

There isn't a black and white answer to that question

It’s a hard question that no one wants to answer, and instead just take the easy route of blaming guns. Even though school shootings were unheard of even when people had access to fully automatic weapons and military explosives.

The short answer I believe is a full degradation of mental stability and morals in this country.

Nothing illegal nor wrong with guns…as a matter of fact guns in the right hands stops a lot of murders. People get stabbed to death often, where is your mention of knives? You’re just trying, pathetically, to turn this political ASAP and it’s disgusting and disingenuous…

As for the right concerning themselves with drag shows to minors…that has nothing to do with guns/gun violence aside from, what I would say, is an attempt to prevent exposing kids to things they have no business being exposed to and in turn keeping children from going into a realm rife with mental illness(tranny things) which would yield more violent murderous mentally ill behavior in society over the long run.

You are ignorant. Every tool needed for access control, doors and locking systems is available and has been for years. If the govt really wanted to help stop this they could stop sending billions overseas and give it to schools to retrofit. Its a matter of when will we actually care enough to do it. I dont think washington wants to fix this problem

There isn't, I agree, but there is a pretty obvious pattern of societal decay that is particularly ruining boys and young men

As an aside, folks I know in Green Hills/Belle Meade are suggesting this might get worse, but I hope not. They're pretty gossipy women so hopefully it's just that type of chatter.

Agreed and it's a damned shame that so few of the posts in this thread show any compassion for the potential victims

And make sure you don’t question anything because they’ll sue you for 10 billion dollars

God I hope not. I can’t imagine the terror of waiting to see if your child shows up.

Cool, now point this at the meme posting frickhead on page 1 that was turning this political while little children were being murdered. I’m sure your righteous indignation swings both ways, right?

Some of you people are sick in the head.

In 1990 there were 173k firearms processed.

In 2020 there were 2.4 million processed.

There were 32 school shootings in 1992 and 29 in 1993. There were 10 or more every other year in the 90s.

I do agree that outside of 2021,2022 (only 5 each year) the last 7-8 years have been extremely busy with these shootings and we should dig deeper into that, but this isn’t just a thing the pst decade

Absolutely. If it's true some kids ran out into the woods on their own, that'll only add to the confusion. I see lots of cops walking along the wood line, so perhaps that's true (that they think some of the kids ran off).

Any info about the shooter? I'm guessing younger (late teens/early 20s) with some connection to the school. I just cannot imagine someone with no connection to the school being so morally deprived to shoot up a school of 4-7 years olds.

Yup. We all share responsibility for these deaths and the responsibility for fixing it. It will take tough conversations and compromise, two things we are not capable of.

Social Media plays a big part, IMO. Young people that are already sad or angry believe that life goes great for everyone else but them.

People under 30 don't have patience like the generations before them. They expect things to happen/change in an instant, and if it doesn't they feel doomed.

Wife’s friend works at the mall in GH… says she keeps hearing ambulances.

The fact the guy was engaged by metro police is not a good sign imo.
