This is incredibly sad and I feel awful for those parents who now have a dead child. I can not and don't ever want to imagine that pain.

You guys don’t actually want money invested into mental health care because you don’t want government money involved in health care at all. That’s just an excuse to keep the government away from your guns.

We used to have a lot more funding. JFK, a liberal, is why we don't any longer.

The government wants your guns no matter how you try to spin it.

Illegally. Just like how they illegally take the lives of other people, or illegally rob them.

Yet that is never a problem that anyone wants to tackle.

People like you never want to address the people committing the crimes. You only want to address the tools used to commit the crimes. Because the first part is hard (or racist in your mind), and the second part is easy because you don't happen to like the tool being used.

but we need to figure out we're going to keep them out of the hands of crazy people
there's things in place to try and make sure of that now and it still happens. The fact of the matter is if they want it bad enough they'll get it no matter what laws are in place. Fentanyl is illegal and look how much of that is on the streets.

That has to be incredibly rare. I cannot ever recall a shooting like this where the pos who did it was female.

If you're old enough to remember the 80s pop song I Don't Like Mondays then you might know that song was about a teenage girl in San Diego who shot up a bunch of elementary school kids and when they asked her why she did it, she replied "I don't like Mondays".

Was a shocking event that happened almost 20 years before Columbine. She was obviously psycho.

People like him say we need more gun laws all while applauding judges for not enforcing the existing guns laws on the books in the name of social justice.

What you need to be asking is why these events were almost unheard of thirty years ago.

We used to institutionalize mentally ill people. Old insane asylums and then mental institutions and finally psychiatric hospitals. Then the liberals decided that was very mean and those people needed to be let out. So over the last 40 or so years we have released a large number of these insane people into the public where we trust them to buy and take their meds, but they rarely can or do.

So we have this every once in a while. It isn’t the guns. It’s the mentally ill people we allow to just roam among us, and when they snap, it’s bad.

But we’ve decided that is the price we are willing to pay for them not to be institutionalized.

Thank God they didn't stand around playing on their cell phones and arresting parents.

I just want to know, in these very f'ed up times, why didn't this school provide some modicum of security. I understand it's Green Hills, and this kind of stuff isn't supposed to happen in Belle Meade- Green Hills, but some measure of common sense should have been deployed there.

Early reports say she shot through locked doors. Now info coming out say the shooter was 28 years old.

MNPD gets some warranted and some unwarranted shite flung their way, but they get the job done when it's needed. They ran in to harms way today just like they ran in to harms way on the Christmas Day bombing.

My buddy's daughter goes there (his daughter is ok, thank god), and apparently there's only one entrance that supposed unlocked during the day.

And when people think security at an elementary school, they're not thinking that it's necessary to prevent some psycho with a gun from shooting up the place. It's such an incredibly rare random act of violence that it's not going to move the needle for a school's budget discussions.

That seems less dubious than the "teenage" angle.

Took 10 seconds for this ugly bitch Karine Jean-Pierre to just flat out blame Republicans for this.
