Texas did this last year; otherwise, that would have been #1 for me. Pain in the f'ing arse.

Wow that is a great way to encourage families to move back to New Orleans to stop the population from decreasing. Nothing makes a place great for raising a family like more fricked up people all around you. Why not go ahead and legalize prostitution and all drugs, I’m sure it will turn the city around in no time. These are definitely the type of people you want more of in your city. The smell of skunk weed in the air everywhere.

When is the last time you've been to the city? The smell is already everywhere. May as well tax it

Future medicals must be put in some sort of escrow to be withdrawn only when incurred and returned to payer if not used within 3 years.

Smoking weed would be a capitol offense. If you want to get high do it with gummies or brownies.

Nobody want to smell that skunk shite.

Remove state income tax

I would be in favor of INCREASING state tax but only if they REDUCED federal tax by a commensurate amount. Keep my money closer to my home.

Repeal lynch laws. Some things could be handled effectively.

It's illegal to tie your alligator to a fire hydrant in Louisiana especially in New Orleans.
This is absurd. If should be able to tie my gator up anywhere I want.

Yes, this is actually a law still on the books today. Look it up

But if it weren't eerybody knows a bunch of coonasses would be hitching their gators up to the fire hydrants in the Quarter and causing all manner of ill shite with the folks from Cincinnati visiting.

I’d make all navigable waterway’s truly public. No more private marsh BS

SOLID idea! And define navigable as any body of water that is accessible from public space and can float any type of craft. In Georgia navigable means commercial barge traffic which is almost non-existent since the 1950s. The bottom of a river should also be public property. There are rivers in Georgia, many of them, that you can float on the surface but can be charged for trespassing if your boat hits a rock or you anchor. Certainly if your feet hit a rock or the bottom.

I would pass one that was nearly unanimously approved in bi-partisan fashion that our Republican governor introduced and then refused to sign and that is a statewide law that would allow anyone building an agriculture building or a residence they plan to live in 24 months can do so with sawmill lumber. Our governor introduced this in 2020 when lumber prices were sky high and housing costs were exploding and it was passed, almost unanimously, with bipartisan support....and then refused to sign it into law because Georgia Pacific was opposed to the idea of competition. Would still have to have an engineered plan and AHJ approval where already required. Bill is ready to sign today as far as I know....dude won't sign it because GP is dead set against it, as if a bunch of old boys producing 10,000 BF of southern yellow pine month is ever going to cut into GPs revenue.....

That’s only part of the argument.

Income taxes tax new income.

Whereas property taxes keep taxing the same property over and over and over. Over long haul, one might pay more in taxes for property than the property value itself (present value of property included).

no traffic cams, no speed traps

hell to the no. I would MUCH prefer getting a ticket from a camera than dealing with a county or state employee while they preach and carry on as if I need someone to tell me why going 11 MPH over a 55 MPH speed limit and maintaining the flow of traffic is a sin. I'll go one even better. Sale me a tag that costs $1000 a year that allows me to drive 15 MPH over the speed limit and take away my license when I exceed that and fine anyone who doesn't have the tag....

I have lived in Texas and Washington State. Income tax is far less inconvenient than having to have a license to fart. I don't care how high state income tax is I would much rather live in Georgia where I can pretty much do anything I damn well please with a permit than Washington State where I did not pay income tax but the tax man was on every corner selling some sort of permit that allowed one to be on the fricking corner. No thank you. Texas ain't as bad as Washington State....I guarantee you that most people in the evergreen state who leaves the house for any reason winds up paying for more in user fees and permits than the same income tax payer in Georgia. Ever have to pay to park to use a public boat ramp AND pay to use the ramp???? And pay a fee to fish with more than one rod? Welcome to tax free Washington State....

Make it illegal for convicted felons to run for office ever again. I cannot believe we can't get this through the legislature. We got a convict on the St. Tammany Parish council who thinks he is going to be the next Parish President. He will not win (though many think he is the mafia so you never know---he may just whack all of his opponents) but I am embarrassed he even has the opportunity to qualify.
