I might agree with you but Fayetteville drags down the overall score all by itself

Lumberton and Robinson County has to be the worst place to live in NC.

I-95 through both Carolinas is a depressing drive. Generally, nothing but bad places to live.

Montana. Idaho. Colorado (even with the Cals).

I do love NC though. The Research Triangle and Asheville went full progfart. And Charlotte does absolutely nothing for me. Same re Greensboro. But the coastal towns and beaches and mountains and mountain towns are awesome.

Raleigh is pretty legit. Only thing missing is a legit place to ski within 3 hours. I question my decision to move from there sometimes.

I saw an interview with Shane Battier talking about his time at Duke. When asked what his favorite thing about Durham was he said “Raleigh” !!!!!

Not a big fan of either (NC) city. I spent many summers in Charleston and Mt. Pleasant growing up so I guess SC is a little nostalgic for me but I do think it’s a beautiful city and rich in culture. Great food and lots to do.

It has the Biltmore, which I love, I’ll give it that.

I cannot. Still, North Carolina does not have a city even half as great as New Orleans. It is a beautiful state, but it is lacking a great city.

New Orleans is fun place to visit but you know it has tons and tons of issues. I've heard someone describe it as well run as a Caribbean city but a badly run American city. I think that sums it up.

Only somebody from Raleigh or Eastern NC farmland would say this.

NC went blue 4 years ago, give it another 8-12 and it will be a shithole. The governor is already appointing activist to the state agencies, and the secretary of DEQ got the highest award from Sierra Club shortly before denying a 401 for a pipeline for purely political reasons about a month ago.

Maybe, Yes, Hell NO!

Virginia is a shite hole with ridiculous taxes. And its rapidly going down hill.

NC was at one time on the short list of places to retire too. But its nothing special.

Is North Carolina really the South? North Carolina and Virginia are like those guys who try to pretend they grew up country, but show up to go fishing wearing starched and ironed blue jeans.

North Carolina...it is lacking a great city... like New Orleans

At the risk of being subjected to twelve paragraphs of you chasing an idea where logic and cognition go plunging into the abyss of unassimilated thought, N.O. hasn’t been a great city since 1966.
