BATON ROUGE- Numbers obtained by the WBRZ Investigative Unit from area hospitals in Baton Rouge show, on average, 47% of hospitals' healthcare workers have declined the COVID 19 vaccine.
More than half have accepted the vaccine when offered.
The numbers include all clinical and non-clinical workers who are employed by Our Lady of the Lake, Ochsner, Baton Rouge General and Woman's. A healthcare worker, according to those hospitals, is someone who is employed and can range from a janitor, cafeteria worker, to a nurse or doctor.
Vaccination experts have said the COVID vaccine is safe and effective. The hospital groups believe workers across Louisiana have a host of reasons for not taking the vaccine, not necessarily a medical concern. Some opted out to give their dose to someone more needy, hospitals said.

OMG that means we will all grow a 3 nipple and short wieners if we get the shot!

In our hospital over 90% of docs got vaccine
Only about 50% of nurses
Only about 50% of nurses

To be fair a lot of people need it more than the doctors and nurses, and the vaccine is in short supply. I would decline it in the same position

The vaccine should be going to to the elderly a million times more than any healthy relatively young heath care worker. They are smart enough to realize that.

What happens if you already have that.......?
For a friend, obviously.

I've had the option to get it for some time now but still haven't. I'm working from home anyway and I've already had the Rona so I'm in no big rush. I'm not an antivaxxer or anything.

Wonder what percentage of docs are still in child bearing years vs the nurses and whether concerns relating to fertility or birth defects play any part.

Is there any evidence that you can actually get it again?

Well they’ve been exposed to it daily for over a year now.. I don’t blame them for not getting the vaccine

I haven't really looked too much into it. I've read somewhere that the antibodies last 6 months but I have no clue if that's accurate.

Rarely. Some people dont get a complete immune response

How in the world can a vaccine developed in less than a year have had any, much less adequate, testing on issues of fertility and birth defects?

Yes. I have a friend who got it twice. 12 weeks apart. The first time he was seriously sick. Close to being in the hospital. The second time was not as intense but still no cake walk

The problem is our dumbass Governor was holding-back vaccines until these workers accepted them and wasnt passing the extras on to the elderly.
Only recently did the State change its strategy.
They are all idiots.
