Fun fact: Laurie was Homecoming Queen at LSU circa 1990

The timing of this is interesting. The Adams clearly pissed the wrong person off.

From her online account......
MEET LAURIE
On the EBR Parish Metro Council, Laurie has been a strong voice for transparency, fiscal responsibility, litter and blight reduction, and returning law and order to our streets.

And yet neither WAFB nor Kiran Chawla have said a peep about it....
I guess they're not so hard-hitting when it's their favored council members.

My guess is the other outlets were clueless until then or didn't have anything ready for air. If they don't do something on this today I will have to agree wbafr and KC are favoring certain council people

I’m sure there’s a very simple explanation for all of this. Pure coincidence, I’m sure.
He makes or made pretty good money for a state employee. Your Louisiana tax dollars spent well.

Sid is a great coach but frick him for mayor. No business experience, hasn't voted in ANY election in the past 8 or more years
There was a debate last night at BRHS.
Broome, James and Edwards were invited.
Unfortunately Edwards had a prior engagement,
I had to laugh.

They mention ownership. I have small partners in my business. I can’t imagine them getting the reaction Ms if I withdrew 780k. Oh, Mr partner, you don’t get the distribution and here is your huge tax liability for your share that I didn’t give you so I could buy a nice house. .

Condon was ranting about this today. I don't know what the previous engagement was. I assume it was very important but this gives the impression that being mayor isn't his first priority. It's a bad look.

He may have been at football practice.

This is more about the Governor doing away with CPRA, which was Garrett Graves’ baby. Just like handing his Congressional seat to the state’s #1 grifter, no matter the impact it will have on the citizens of the state.
To the victor belong the spoils is being played out daily.

His coworkers were wondering how the hell he was able to purchase a $780K house cash with that salary. This dude is dumb.

Don't be so short sighted. If the allegations are true, I hope they go to jail and lose their home. I am sick and tired of politicians stealing from taxpayers and then getting away with it.

As an operator we pay 3.5 % each year to LORA of our required bond for LORA to post the required financial security. There is no public donations accepted by LORA. In the past if you were a prudent operator you were “grandfathered “ and were not required to post financial security. This is what led to the thousands of orphaned wells. When LOC changed this program and required financial security most of us were unable to come up with the cash bonds. Therefore the idea proposed by LORA was a savior. I do not have the $ 1,800,000.00 to bond my wells. Therefore the 3.5 % annual payment to LORA was a great program. The orphan Well problem was brought on by LOC not requiring financial security for decades.
To be frank, mom and pop small operators have a history of being terrible people. From not plugging any wells because they don't want to deal with the expense. I have heard stories of mom and pops drilling a well, logging it, it shows a promising pay zone, however they report to non-op partners that it was a dry hole. Some even produce artificial logs by taking a dry well's logs and rebranding the cover page to show the name of the new well. They plug it for $30-40k or whatever it is. They then 1 year later, go back in and drill plugs out and produce the well taking 100% of whatever production. I've even heard that some don't report any production to the state or royalty owners and take literally 100% of revenue when after royalties, ad valorem, and severance taxes, you might be left with 65-70% NRI, and that's before you split with non-op partners.
Also heard of mom and pop operators ordering their oil pick-up trucks (because most are too cheap to build a pipeline to an oil gathering/transmission line) so they use pick up trucks... but what I heard is that some steal oil from other nearby operators stock tanks. They'll go siphon 160-200 bbls from another stock tank and claim it, basically stealing $15,000.
Some build their surface pipe with PVC instead of metal which is a huge risk for the environment.
Most people that want to get into the business of being head man in charge and owning a handful of wells producing in total 100 BOEPD are usually people that will do anything to live a lavish life, including screwing those around them.
Basically, what I'm getting at is that the larger operators usually do things right in oil and gas including P&A. It's the small operators where it's a 2 or 3 man gig, people that are greedy, that really are shitty people.

And if Trump wins and Landry heads to DC, then Billy will be there to bury what's left of CPRA. This administration has already managed to put CPRA's largest project on the chopping block. And I'm sure there is more to come.

I firmly believe that we need to start treating government corruption as more than a white-collar crime. It needs to see hard jail time and potentially the death penalty in the most egregious cases. Right now its a slap on the wrist.
Its very detrimental to civil society even if the "crime" is only money. Look to south and central america to see how it affects everyone.
Imo, its worse for society than the crime of violent street thugs.
