Well, at least my cat would be safe. I always figured he'd taste like fatty squirrel and I've ate plenty of them.
But now that I think about it, cats are carnivores so he'd probably taste quite different, probably not very good.

It’s funny how every socialist or communist government that has devolved into a authoritarian regime or dictatorship is never “real socialism” or “real communism.” The problem with socialism and communism is that they give a central government so much control over the lives of people. Those who gain control of that government then never want to let that control and power go, and only tighten their grip. That’s why socialist and communist governments almost always devolve into authoritarianism and dictatorships.

You don’t need Fox News or Trump to understand history.
Every time some numbskull stands up and starts moving a country towards “true socialism”, it always ends in a nightmare.
The last iteration of this was Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, who “democratic socialists” like your hero Bernie Sanders cheered on until he drove the country over a cliff. Then Bernie literally says he doesn’t want to talk about that anymore.
I literally don’t give a damn what you’re calling it nowadays. Workers movement, people’s movement, “democratic socialists”, you’re simply giving a different name to the same crappy flavor of ice cream.

More than willful political ignorance, the actual problem you are trying to describe is that modern American republicans label anyone as “communist or socialist” just because they advocate for things like a national health, something that every other capitalist nation on earth has done.

You would think that a people who’s own premise for existence is limited small government would understand this concept, but I suppose you have to first know your own history, and government and believe in it to understand this concept, or hell, at the very least, just look at world history over the past 500 years or so to see the example of what all powerful centralized governments do to their own citizens.
The deliberate dumbing down of America is in full effect.
