When I went through cancer treatment years ago (testicular) everyone in the room was much older and most seemed to have other ailments in addition to cancer. The only other patient in the room I came across during my 9 weeks of treatment my age was a woman fighting breast cancer.
Diagnosing cancer of any type in an early stage greatly improves the chances. Being younger with no other pre-existing conditions greatly helps with the fight.
One of my wife’s best friends went through treatment about 5-6 years ago. She had a strong group of Christian friends that helped her emotionally and spiritually through it.
From my personal experience through treatment. My attitude was I couldn’t control anything other then staying positive and making sure I was eating properly (even when I wasn’t hungry or feeling sick) I couldn’t control treatment but I could control Some thing and that is what I focused on.

Update, my wife has surgery scheduled for June 28 for the lumpectomy and breast conservation. Hopefully all will be well when they check her lymph nodes and if so, she will have radiation treatments but no chemo.
Just to repost what I posted earlier, my mom was the same treatment
10 years later it has resurfaced in her bones & while the treatment is 2 pills she feels like crap a lot, although at her 6 months scan all spots were gone
Treatment is prob different than 10 years ago but ask a lot of questions if she goes into menopause & needs hormones
Best of luck to your family

My Wife and Sister have both gone thru this in the past 18 months. Both are fine now. My wife had surgery and my sis had surgery and chemo. All I'll say is Chemo is WAY worse than the surgery. My wife was suppose to have a revision surgery today, but it was postponed. Do everything you can for her when she gets out of the hospital. She needs you now more than ever.
Prayers to you and your family. May God lay his healing hands upon all of you.
