We had a gas powered Yamaha for our visit. It was sweet. Yellow paint, speakers, mag wheels. We passed over the Florida Turnpike several times. Yes an overpass just for golf carts. The pathways were beautifully landscaped with palm trees, flowers, live oaks. Just amazing

Wrong. A simple Google search can reveal the statement is false. The Villages is not even a high STD area of Florida.

The lie began in the early 90s, when people who apparently don't like consenting adults enjoying each other's company began spouting it.

Shhh, let the rumor keep going. It keeps out the Karens and the self-righteous religious folks. They don't want the Debbie Downers around these retirement areas.

What a place, I highly recommend it as a 55+ community.

That shite is too busy. The community has one of the highest growing population of children in the country because of all the support workers they need to run that place. They even have planned neighborhoods for families with young children, so the over 19 thing is now just limited to certain sections.

Just seems like an awful place to live full time in that area of Florida too.

I volunteered at a golf tournament last year. Met a couple from the villages. They looked nice. Like the kinda folks in used to seeing in my circles only older, you know?

They were only in town for the golf. I told them I knew of another couple at the club that also has a place in the villages. I made an introduction. Never saw the 4 of them again all weekend despite them being on the schedule a couple more times.

I was like, holy shite it's real. All I got lol.

I've got a few years yet but definitely interested in retiring in Florida.

Side note: the women are in charge of all the swinging btw.

I think it's electric carts only at the spot we're moving to.

As far as traffic goes, I didn't experience any as I never got in anything but a golf cart for 5 days

Ask anyone that provides a service in central Florida, the Villages are the gold standard for difficult people to do business with.

The stereotype of an entitled boomer exists for a reason.
