This guy was my hero. He held out against the evil addiction longer than anyone I know. Alas, a few months ago he gave in to the permanence that no one can return from, LASIK surgery. I keep him in my prayers.

Completely addictive. I could see fine, maybe not read small road signs, prior to glasses. Now, I can't see shite, 2 years later. Completely, dependent on glasses. Eyes don't fall apart that fast, on their own.

The LDH has stayed that no health care practioner (including optometrists) can see routine patients currently.
That said, if you have an active prescription you should still be able to order contacts from them. My guy had someone in the office taking orders and had them shipped directly to the house. In the past, 1-800-Contacts has sent lenses that were soon to expire.

Incorrect. When they call to verify as long as the message recording is connected to the doctor you listed they'll fill the order.

Not sure who OP uses, but Eye Medical Center is renewing prescriptions for contacts over the phone and having them mailed to the patient’s house until they can do regular eye exams again.

My eye doctor went back to normal operation last week. They do require patients wear a mask and take your temperature before you are seen.

Most are opening back up full time in Louisiana. They were already allowed to do emergencies/urgencies. The clause "clinically significant changes in vision" describes a lot of patients. Routine wellness checks are supposed to be postponed.

Astigmatism. No. I wear them, everyday, now. I can get up early, and go for a morning run without them, but if I take them off for an evening run, I can't navigate the cracks in the pavement. Near vision has never been an issue. I can see porn on my phone, just fine, with or without glasses.

It’s because Covid can be spread if someone has it in their eyes. The regular flu isn’t transmitted this way.
