My neighbor hid their trashiness for 5 years, just got exposed

Dear Facebook/NextDoor/etc
One of my neighbors is a fairly well to-do couple. Husband is the town postmaster, wife works from home. They have a large plot of land, pool, 3 nice cars, etc. I always thought the wife saw herself as the queen of the neighborhood but she stayed out of our business, so whatever.
Yesterday, she came down while my kid and I were playing in the yard and asked if I knew the local school was giving out free meals for kids and if I had been going. I told her Yes, I knew but that even though I was on furlough, my wife and I were secure enough that we didn't need it. She then bragged to me that they didn't either but that she had stocked up on 2 weeks of meals for her grandkids anyway.
Really calls for a moment of somber reflection - what trashy signals am I sending out that would cause someone to brag about skimming from charity to me?

You must have a shite school system, we haven't actually gotten meals but our system is running a route with a school bus and handing out one breakfast and one lunch per day per student.

I thought about hitting one of these up for the simple fact that figuring out how to feed your kids three meals a day EVERY DAMN DAY, while still trying to handle a full workload at home, can get fricking exhausting.
