Okay. So it's a different tool and the morons I've encountered called their utility blade the wrong thing.

I feel a little better.
Why? You didn't know wtf it was either.

Its exacerbated by the fact X-Acto makes box cutters as well, with little adjustible/sectioned blades for decades.

So yes, some box-cutters are definitely X-acto knives; the same is true for X-Acto's utility knife series. And then there are the traditional X-Acto lines that people are most familiar with, that are for arts and crafts.

It's nice that they invented the word "crafts", because "arts and shitty art" is kind of mean.

If you put model airplanes together as a kid you know what an exacto knife is.

My latest Mandela Effect:

Damn, my best example is Mandela himself. Baw was head of a terrorist organization that placed bombs in the marketplace, killing women and children. All of a sudden he was a Nobel peace prize winner. Da fuk happened???

This is not at all an example of the Mandela Effect.

I will say, it got its name based on (apparently) large numbers of people who remember Mandela dying in prison. I have never met one person who thinks this. So it’s odd that the effect itself is named after such a bad example

You just proved my point.

If you look up examples of “Mandela effect” examples are usually slight misspelling of things like fruit loops or Bernstein bears.

When I use a box cutter, I never actually cut the box. Mine end up being tape cutters.

Essentially scalpels but with different handle. I believe the numbering is the same as the scalpels we use in the OR as well (ie 10 blade, ll blade, 15 blade, 22 blade, etc)

Since you're 35 you probably didn't put together models on a rainy day. X-acto were a must to shave those little dimples off the model pieces.
