What the frick is an exacto knife?

I've never in my 35 years heard a box cutter/ utility blade called this until 2 weeks ago while working on qn occupied rental property.

Since then I've randomly heard it called an exacto knife on tv shows approx 5 more times.

It's used for arts and crafts

Edit: They were required for my middle school arts class back when metal geometry compasses were still a thing.

I have no idea how you’ve never heard of an Xacto knife, but it’s not the same thing as a box cutter.

I always used one as a kid when making balsa wood models or Estes rockets.

Pretty common tool used by model builders much smaller and precise than a utility knife

Okay. So it's a different tool and the morons I've encountered called their utility blade the wrong thing.

I feel a little better.

Thanks

It’s a craft knife. Great for making fine cuts and trims. Good for finishing work.
