Sometimes when a great man passes at such an age there is less grief and more admiration and appreciation that warms you.

The one “regret” I have is that he was very quiet and reverent about war. Later in his years he opened up more but as a kid it wasn’t talked about much. I think he carried a good amount of guilt for the AO. They didn’t know what that stuff really was.

You are blessed to have had him in your life for so long, much less at all. Give thanks to God for that blessing and find comfort knowing he’s back together with your grandma smiling down upon you. His heart no longer aches for her.

Was in Japan during Korea but didn’t see a lot of flight time as far as I know.
