The other test is saying she wants an Ipad. How quickly you jump will gauge your love for her and your suitability to be with her.

There's a difference. You certainly can do more with an iPaid.
That said, I have the Kindle Fire and it works fine. I use it as a digital recipe book only... it doesn't leave the kitchen. Actually will soon have a permanent stand in there. I have a MacBook Pro and my smart phone for "playing on".
I will also say the size of the Kindle Fire is pretty small unless you get the bigger one (I've never seen this one IRL). I was kinda disappointed that it isn't THAT much bigger than my Galaxy S6.

If she wants a specific something, she can buy it. Jeez, people are so materialistic. Purses that cost more than $50? My purse is the credit card and ID on the back of my outdated i-Phone. And I make good money. Never understood the desire for "stuff". Maybe I am just a minimalist. I would rather go do something cool, like jump out of a plane.

i just bought a 3 month old mint condition ipad air 2 64gb for my mom for right under 300 off craiglist. i checked the serial before buying, but the lady selling appeared very trustworthy any ways. no issues. these things sometimes go for like 450-500 used elsewhere.
i am sure you could get a 16gb either ipad 4 or a mini for a great deal..
i thought about getting another tablet, but it's really what my mom is most comfortable with.. and getting the ipad to sync with your phone (since she has an iPhone) is pretty awesome.. can get all your messages and calls sent to it. she can facetime all her friends and whatnot.. much better than skype IMO.. i say get an iPad, just keep looking for a good deal..

Whatever you get her it will be worth it because they will play games and Facebook and all that other shite and leave you the hell alone. Buying mine a smart phone years ago and then a tablet recently was best thing ever. And she can carry it to the kitchen.
Edit. She's going to want the iPad though because it's more name brand sobshe can keep up with the Jones.

You can get an iPad mini for under $200 at Wal-Mart.
