This. There's one I occasionally stop at one because it's the only store in that neck of the woods, and it's always clean and well stocked.

They have more than double the amount of stores as Walmart. Tons in rural areas and most cities of a somewhat decent size will have several.

They’re all over small-town Texas. They’re always dumpy and sad.

How dare you insinuate that Dollar Tree is like DG. At least you can find shite in Dollar Tree unlike a Dollar General. DT is my go place to go for balloons and wrapping paper when the balloons there are a buck and the same ones at Rouses or other party places are 7-10 bucks. Other than that, yeah ai dont want to go in any type of dollar store.

Holy crap..this place is the trashiest store I've ever been in.

Packing and other plastic crap all over the floor. The only food is shitty processed food. This place is a homeless man's walmart.

This is how the other half lives..it's pretty harrowing.

Yet you love communism, oh the irony.

I can get a 12 pack of 8oz Bud Lights or Ultra for $4.95 and a box of DG brand Samoa cookies for $2.50. What’s not to like?

One off Walmart stores in nicer areas are nowhere near the norm.

I regularly shop at them while traveling, and I can attest that the following have better food, including shelf-stable, than any of big-dollar stores (I'm laughing at this "debate" btw):

Santa Fe, NM
Montrose, CO
Missoula, MT
Smelterville, ID
Spencer, WV
Eufala, AL
Chattanooga, TN
Baton Rouge (Although ick to both I've been to--Seigen and Burbank)
Stillwater, MN
Pooler, Ga
Various Atlanta area
Destin

Just some examples of shelf-stable things you'll never find in dollar stores but are stocked at WM: Joseph's Bakery low carb pitas and flat bread, and other similar low-carb bread products, good dark chocolate (with various % up to 99) and Lindt and Sam's Choice. Duke's links. Good oil selection (good olive oil, avocado, organic coconut). Stevia products. La Croix. Mac's chitlins (no crap added). Organic sugar free nut butters. Decent wine and beer. Macadamia nuts. Almond and coconut flour. Organic teas. Decent coffee.

They seldom have good salad dressings but they will carry some good brands (no soybean oil).

I been in one that was like a mini Wal-mart neighborhood market. It was clean and a well maintained store.

Your liberal hypocrisy is shining through. You haven't a clue about reality, CommodeDawg.

And your policies promote more poverty and illiteracy, lol. Private school all the way?

My home county of 17k has like 8 Dollar Generals. It’s kind of amazing that they keep popping up.

There’s also a pretty big Dollar General Market that was nice and had a full grocery selection.

So a bunch of niche market shite that your average Walmart shopper isn’t buying.

And btw, why would Sam’s choice, a Walmart private label, be sold at dollar general?
