There is some merit to what she says. I raised pits for years and never had an issue with them and nobody I know that has/had a pit had any issues either.
There are those that abuse the dogs and do their best to make them aggressive, and that is a bad mix.
I wouldn't have one now simply because at my age I just don't have the energy or inclination to take care of one. They need lots of activity to keep them happy and I no longer want to pick up dog shite out of my yard.
