At 8 months and about 60 lbs, he jumped on the couch by himself twice this morning.

Such a proud father.

Come back when you've taught him to get you a beer.

It took your dog 8 months to learn how to jump up on a couch? Does he have some kind of physical disability? My dog was doing that at like 9 weeks

I think it's a combination of wood laminate floors and the dog growing up so fast that he has always just been content with placing his two front paws on the couch. He can lay his entire front half on the couch and pretty much grab anything he wants off of it. He's a hot natured dog, so I imagine he has always preferred laying on the cold floor.

If you would have got a pitbull, it would have learned 7 months ago.

Now you can bring it to all your friends house and let him jump all over their furniture and laughingly say you're sorry.

Animals don't belong on the furniture.
