My mom was there, the owners were talking and next thing you know my dog was shaking the dog around. Maybe he was incited, I'm not sure. It's very out of character of him. Like I said he lives with 2 small dogs and plays daily at the park with other dogs, small & large

Some advice, you probably shouldn't allow any future dogs to be around that german shepherd or be left unattended in the open.

pretty sure he's dead. that was about 15 years ago and he was at least 4 or so at that point.

The mutual agreement is basically understood, for the last 5 years during the whole month of January, my dog would play with the lady's Labradors on a daily basis. It's not a written contract. Just understood. Both owners were present when it happened

This happened in the victims yard.

If you are friends with them and they KNOW your dog isn't normally vicious, why are they being dicks about it? I mean, if my friend's normally docile dog were to attack my dog, it would suck but I wouldn't ask that the dog be put down.

probably doesn't need to stop, just go to a park with designated areas for various sized dogs.

That's basically what will happen, I'm just wondering if he has the legal right to eventually have my dog euthanized

No. This sort of stuff happens between dogs all the time. If your dog has a history of being dangerous or attacks a person it might be possible, but not if this is a one time incident.

Had the people not been assholes, you might have offered to pay their vet bill like I did on two occasions with one of my dogs.

What a liberal mindset. If you've ever been around dogs that are not carried around in a purse you would know that dogs occasionally fight. To kill a family pet over one incident is utterly ridiculous and over the top. Now if it had recent instances of aggressive behavior then it should be considered.

Same here. I would be more worried about medical care for my dog. I'd expect the other owner to pay for care but I don't see how making someone else lose their dog is gonna help my dog....esp if it looks like the 2 will never have contact with each other again.

This is stupid. Dogs get into these sorts of altercations rather frequently. It's what happens when unfamiliar dogs mingle at times.

It's happened to my dogs and because of my dogs in the past. My dogs were docile otherwise.

Let me clarify. The wife is friends with my mom, she owns 2 bigger dogs who have played all the time.

The Daschsund is the husbands/boyfriends who I believe has just introduced this year. So while the wife may not totally be on board with killing my dog, the husband is obviously upset and fuming at the moment about his dog. Hopefully he reconsiders and wil drop it
