They also have Social Fixer. Browser add-on that blocks political posts.

If I wasn’t in sales- I wouldn’t have fb. But I get referrals from fb. I does help to stay in contact with seldom seen family members and old school friends. But the drama associated with fb can be over the top

The facebook news feed is super annoying, but what really keeps me on it are the special interest groups.

Scrolling down that screen seeing that useless and trash content was the most depressing and toxic thing I’ve experienced in a long time.

Must say a lot about your friend if he likes seeing that kind of stuff.

I hid and deleted everyone that was even a little annoying or trying to use it to sell stuff.
Down to about 100 people and some groups and restaurants/bars, etc that I like to follow. It's useful for me finding info about groups that I or my kids are in.

It’s my humble opinion that facebooks product went to hell when it morphed into something not just for college kids. When the original users no longer had college email addresses Facebook had to do something to keep their original users, but that opened Pandora’s box and Facebook morphed into what we have now

A crossfitter and someone who just quit Facebook walk into a bar.

We all know because they told us about it immediately after walking in.

How do people let Facebook become so consuming that it becomes something they need to “get rid of”? It is the ultimate form of people watching ever invented.

I use Facebook to keep up with my family and friends, especially ones I don’t get to see often. Nice to see informal memories pop up. Outside of that, it’s fun to watch the insane poorly thought out things people post. From insane political rants to basically boob pics “celebrating breast feeding” it never ceases to amaze me.

And it’s my favorite time of the year for facebooking when I get to see all the teachers posts about how hard they are working setting up their classrooms and how many hours they have to put in pop up in their feeds right after two months worth of sleeping late and vacation pics.

People watching at its finest.

Same. So, we basically use it the way it was originally intended.

How much does one have to invest in FB for your life to actually be better since you got off of it?

That's pretty odd.

Considering I don’t have to find anyone or they find me on Facebook or say happy birthday to anyone on Facebook, that alone is enough. I don’t have to check Facebook any time or see what stupid things other people say. It’s a complete waste of time. So yes, my life has been better since I quit wasting my time or involving it in my life in any possible way.

I bitch about FB and have thought about getting rid of my account, my in the end, it is the most convenient way to keep in touch with relatives that live in different countries.

These are the only posts that bug me, or at least make me shake my head, and are usually shared by old Aunt Betty and Uncle Fred:

"Facebook wants to ban pictures of the flag because it offends Muslims! Share this picture to show Facebook that you don't give a damn!'

A picture of Jesus with "Only 5% of you will share this picture. Share if you love Jesus!"

The picture of Ewen McGregor from Star Wars making its rounds as Jesus

"Mars will be closest to Earth in 20,000 years! It will be as large as a full moon! Share!"
