My complain about Facebook thread

I’ll be honest. I started on Facebook back when you had to have a college email address to have an account. I thought it was a great tool for networking and that sort of stuff.
Once they allowed any and everybody on I knew it was only a matter of time before it turned to shite. It turned to shite pretty quickly and I posted maybe 3 times a year and got on it maybe twice a week.
My account got hacked and Facebook help desk or whatever you want to call it sucked. No live person, no online bot pretending to be a live person for assistance, nothing to help me get my account back. So I said screw it. I’m not going to open a new account. My life has been better ever since. I didn’t give a shite about 97% of the people I was “friends” with any way. I’m glad I have opted out of the government tracking tool.

Do not have Facebook but used a friends app the other day to search for a friend. Scrolling down that screen seeing that useless and trash content was the most depressing and toxic thing I’ve experienced in a long time.

I saw one that was actually useful. Ordered some caiman and ostrich boots from a company called Tecovas. Good value and damn good shoes.

Been off facebook for 3 years. My last memories were of people reposting political garbage all day, then bitching about how athletes should keep their political opinions to themselves.

I believe you need a Facebook account to be able to peruse Tinder and Bumble.

I'm still on FB mainly to keep tabs on a few old flames. If they ever get divorced I want to know about it.

I mainly use it for history pages or groups. Scroll pretty quickly past the people who post hourly updates on their exciting lives.
Also discovered after the 2016 election that you can unfollow people without blocking them, so liberal relatives posting political rants don't show up on my feed.
