You guys linking a narcotics citation with no name at 16:57 and an arrest record with no information at 17:29?
Quite the leap.
Those are two separate events.
Ya and while sure, a month long bender / sudden opiate addiction taking complete control of his life is a possibility - I've known many, many people addicted and have never seen someone go just suddenly to the deep end and shut off all contact. That kind of behavior i've only seen in IV users and if OPs brother doesn't have a history (it could certainly be hidden) - it just doesn't really seem to be the most likely scenario to me.
While possible, seems to be just speculation at this point without much to support it. I wouldn't get too pigeonholed on a single scenario is all I'm trying to say.

Dissociative fugue? While rare, it is what came to my mind.

OP, I noticed you removed the large last picture of your brother from the original post. I know some were saying he looked to be on drugs but the difference from the first large picture and the removed one is drastic. For best results you might want to post a picture that looks like he does now.

What was he doing with his stuff? He was 33, he had to have "stuff" right? No couches, mattress, furniture? No surf board or bike or hobby stuff? If he didn't have a car, where is it? Who had it? Seems like that needs chased down? Someone has to have something of his?
Then, his job I mean how does the GM not want to know what's up? What is the GM saying? If nothing that seems pretty telling IMO as in they are not surprised?
ETA: I'm not so sure he isn't just depressed sitting at home at his new apt and doesn't want to speak to anyone. But you'd think one of his friends would see the flyer and know someone that knows where his place is located.
ETA; What about the Post Office OP? He had to have forwarded his mail from the previous location right? Maybe they can tell you where its being forwarded? Wouldn't he have bills and what not?

If you don’t mind me asking, what did he get mixed up in?

I really hope you find your brother. Don't give up hope. I know a guy that moved to LA and eventually went missing for months. Family and friends all posting about it on Facebook. He was found, but I never heard why he was missing.

Hoping the reason OP hasn’t posted in a while is because he’s found a lead or something

Hope OP finds his brother, prayers to your family, good luck.

any update on any of these ideas/leads from OP?
Posted on 9/28/21 at 4:19 pm to Sampson
I haven’t read everything to see what’s been suggested, but my first thoughts are:
Pull a credit report and monitor for any changes
Where possible, contact his credit card companies for activity (using his social and pretending to be him)
Find out about the mysterious citation - how can you be cited without explanation? Find the officer that issued the citation and speak to him.
If he was in between places, where are all of his belongings?
If you know who he banks with, try calling in there as him through the automated system and access recent transactions
Contact his employer- was that check deposited or cashed and can they tell you when and where.
If it was cashed and not put in the bank, was that usual?

Pretty much all of this was done within the first couple of pages of the thread. And the cell records don’t show any activity since after the accident.

I’m a close friend of Sampson and Colin. I know he headed back out there with not much stuff. I’m not sure what all he had acquired in that time.
I don’t want to bungle up anything with misinformation but I’ve seen a couple recurring thoughts I may be able to shed some light on.
I think it’ll be hard to track down the landlord situation because I believe he was a roommate and also a “roommate to be” in the new place. As in I’m not sure if he was going to be on the new lease or subsequently added, the way I understood it was he was going to be moving in with someone who already had a lease. I believe from the limited knowledge Sampson tried to track this place / person down but to no avail while he was still out there. Which also goes to maybe why there’s not much “stuff” to track down since I think he went from a furnished place to another furnished place.
Also the phone thing sounds crazy to some of us but Colin was never on his phone. Didn’t really keep it with him always like most people do these days. So he may have thought it just lost or damaged in the wreck, not that the police had it and he was avoiding going to get it.

Good catch, I actually mis typed , on the report it was 16:57 not 14:57, so just over a half hour…..pretty damn close, and I think it has also been posted that the booking number matches the OPs brother so .. it was him

I think he is in rehab. Probably sentenced to at 30 day stint. Ashamed and embarrassed, this is why he hasn't reached out to family. Hopefully he will soon, after he is clean.

That is why I asked about the address I provided and phone number before posting. These do not appear to be his recent addresses. Also, the phone number happens to be 1 number higher than a cell number he had 10 years ago. I am hopeful the information I provided will be enough for the PI to run with...

This absolutely didn't happen. Doesn't mean he's not in rehab... just he wasn't sentenced to it within hours of arrest.

These places will ask for specific transactions and amounts and on what dates as well as a SSN. So, Sampson will have to know what was purchased for how much on what date.
