My Awkward Moment in Church Today

I am at Church today and it was packed. This cute girl is sitting beside me and I didn't think much of it. So when the Pastor told everybody turn around and say hi to your neighbor part, I turned to my left and shook a dude's hand then I turned to my right to shake the cute girl's hand.

The only problem, she didn't have a hand. I think she was born without a hand or must have gotten into an accident or something. I didn't know what to do because it caught me off guard so I grabbed her arm and shook her arm. It happened so quickly I did not know what to do. She was laughing. I felt horrible because I have never been in that situation before. It bothered me throughout the entire sermon. I was so embarrassed.

After the sermon I went to the coffee shop that we have in our church and she came up to me while in line and thanked me because everybody that has to shake her hand in certain situation, they always freak out and don't know what to do, but she said I did the right thing and it made her feel normal for once.

It was just crazy awkward, but I don't feel bad about it now like I did in Church when it actually happened.
