My attempt to fit in around here

Ever since childhood I have craved acceptance...
Pairing the new river bridge with a rebuilt bayway seems smart in the long run. And before questioning the total project cost, you have to recognize that building foundations in the Mobile area means working in soft coastal soils, tidal conditions and a high corrosion environment. I just hope the new tunnel is wider than the old one. The old tunnel should've been built wider to begin with, but what's done is done. I'm really looking forward to checking out the new bridge. Will be instantly recognizable and change the landscape of downtown. It will be the second tallest bridge deck in the country, trailing only the Golden Gate Bridge. Incredible!

You have to love revisionist hindsight when discussing design parameters on infrastructure projects that were designed almost 100 years ago.

Don't worry if you continue to question government overspending today while at the same time questioning government underspending on previous projects from decades ago you will be eventually accepted here.
However, if you want to expedite the acceptance process you can start arguing that EBR Parish needs its 5th school district despite the fact that 61 of our 64 parishes have only one school system! The other two parishes with multiple districts only have two districts each.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Per capita Baton Rogue has to have more central office school administrators than just about any city in America. Nice way to clear 100K a year and retire after 30 years and keep collecting.
