My 7yo boy stumped me with a question

I thought I had an answer for everything after all my years on this Earth but he got me.
We were having the usual discussion about why your blood is blue but when exposed to oxygen it turns red.
Then he suddenly said "the moon doesn't have oxygen does it?" And I said no.
So he said "does your blood stay blue if you get a cut on the moon?"
I had no answer to that one. Clever little shite.

My 8 year old asked me what a golden shower was last night. Said he saw someone talking about it on YouTube.

Tell him that you bleed purple and gold.

But human blood isn’t blue

Yes because the suit has oxygen. And if the body part isn’t in the suit then the cut is the least of your concerns.

going to the moon is a myth

That’s a very good question. There should be an experiment when the NASA lunar module finally makes it there again.

Well it isn't, so that may help.
Eta
You don't even have to go to the moon. Just donate blood where it goes directly from your vein into a sealed vial or bag.

This isn't even remotely true.

Wait until he asks about a Cleveland steamer, a rusty trombone, or an Alabama hot pocket.

There are adults that actually believe this?

Blue blood is a myth unless you’re an octopus.

Usual? This is a usual conversation in your home? Your son is going to have a hard time in life.
Let us know how he reacts when you tell him daddy is an idiot and your blood is not blue.

Have you ever, I mean ever, cut yourself or seen someone else get cut and watched BLUE blood flow out? Think about that.

'Blue Blood' was a term used for describing royalty.

IT's good that he asks questions like that.
He's thinking.
