Kind of makes sense I guess. Run and/or hide first. If that doesn't work and you're face to face with the shooter, fight for your life.

Top priority is getting away from the shooter
Second, hide. If your behind a door that has an automatic door closer, take off your belt and wrap it around the closer to keep the door from beind opened.
Last, fight. If all else fails, fight the shooter. Find items to hit him with; a fire extinguisher, book bags, anything. If you're in a group, rush the shooter to overwhelm him.

There's a video that I think they're making college students (probably high school students too) watch nowadays that explains it.
One of my professors in college who was an ex-FBI agent taught us how to make quick and deadly weapons out of common classroom items for protection in such an event. Was pretty wild.

Well if you catch them as they open the door, you could conceivably knock them out if you hit them hard enough.
