That is because they want to do their job and he is holding them back by telling them not to harass the thugs because his boss will get mad and he is a puppet.
Being a good police officer is in their blood black or white a good chief black or white should have spent his time on the streets. Not sure what this clowns background is but I can guarantee this if I got into a serious situation he would not be the man I would want coming to help.

I've talked to numerous city leaders over the years and they all say the same thing...to do that would feel like they are being talked down to !!!!!
I wonder if the relative or friend of the person laying under the sheet on the street wishes someone would have talked down to the person who killed their loved one ?

You can take it to the bank that the broad daylight body dump at Kenilworth and Mall of La shooting caused some money people to hammer the Mayor. No one cares what happens until it bleeds over to peaceful parts of town. For the last three years the Mayor and Police have been hands off in the hood even though they have been killing each other at a faster pace than ever. You can book it that pressure is being put on the Mayor and Chief to do something.

I get where you are coming from, but how is he doing "nothing" and where is he being politically correct or otherwise not letting the men do their job?
He has always been a political hack, and was quite willing to serve as SWB's hatchet man during the disciplinary hearings that followed the Alton Sterling shooting.
There is nothing he has done in his career that wasn't calculated to ingratiate him with politicians and with those in the upper echelons of whatever agency he was employed by.
It's not so much a case of him "doing nothing" - it's a matter of his being incapable of accomplishing anything.

The recent shootings are an anomaly says broome. She will get it back to one shooting a night and everything will be alright.

Drainage comes from parish funds.
BRPD a city and again a city police force.
The money should come from city funds and only city tax payers. If they want more money they should have an election to raise taxes for it inside the city only.
