I'm in that Stine almost as much as my yard.

Damn son, so you would sit at gattis for a solid 4-5 hours?
How's that any different than sitting in Middleton? I never did this but friends of mine did the same thing in the 90s. Get the buffet at lunch and stick around til a 330 or 430 class. They'd study, drink cokes, watch the tvs, eat a slice of pizza, repeat.

I was on the swim team, we had the projector room reserved every Sunday night and we would all go watch the simpsons and eat 20 pieces of pizza. I’d play some video poker too once I turned 21
I was about to post this exact same thing. We’d stay there until they kicked us out on Sundays. We’d go after Saturday workouts when things were slow/quiet on campus. It was always a competition to see who could line up the most crusts around the perimeter of their tray. No doubt they lost money on us after a 4 hr Saturday workout. When were you there?

Middleton liberry isn't a for profit bidness. Freeloading bums. Same with the people that camp at coffee bidnessess and suck down free wifi and take up space.
ETA: I'm with the "bring back Godfather's Pizza" crowd. Only don't turn it into a kids joint. It best have some beer on tap too.

And it warms my heart to know that the OT recognizes how lame Newk’s was/is.
The few times I have been to Newk's, I have had to laugh at the people eating salads from bowls that resemble some kind of farm animal feeding trough.

Best pizza in town for the money is Costco. A large pepperoni is $10 and feeds 3 to 4 people.

I used to love Mr. Gatti’s, before pizza caused weight gain for me.

Newk’s is delicious. Wish I had one where I live. Can get pizza anywhere.

I worked at the Student Health Center for about 3 years when I was at LSU and my boss and I would walk over to thae Gatti's every Friday for lunch and go to town on the buffet.
THIS! Green olives are my favorite pizza topping. Pizza Hut still offers them, too. Gatti's also had awesome ranch dressing.

I love it, one of the few places that still offers green olives as a topping

There is nothing fresh about Gatti's pizza. Don't understand the cult like following, but I guess that's true of all cults.

The old gattis campus location had the pizza buffet and salad bar for $4.99 with a coupon. We would wear that thing out back in the early/mid 90’s
IRCC, it was that price with your LSU student ID. Needless to say, there were many lunches spent there...which helped in to me gaining about 25 lbs my first year or two of college (as discussed in the fat thread currently on the OT).
If I'm being honest, the pizza isn't the best compared to other options. However, Gatti's will always hold a special place in my heart. I attended many elementary school birthday parties there. I watched ballgames there with childhood friends and their parents. There were many lunches that extended into blowing off an after lunch class. The great memories somehow make the pizza taste better than it actually does.
Sadly, I am now on an island in my family when it comes to Mr. Gatti's. My wife isn't from Louisiana and doesn't share my nostalgia. My kids, who didn't grow up with Gatti's being a popular birthday party spot, don't share it either. My wife gets mad when she wants to take me out to eat for my birthday and I say "let's just go to Mr. Gatti's" instead of some overpriced shite I don't really want that is "more appropriate" for a special occasion.
