Ironic that a job in the town that hundreds of qualified MSU engineering alumni would kill to get back to goes unfilled.

Kinda makes you think?

People shite on Starkville, but i like it there. The weather really sucks this time of year and it’s in the middle of fricking nowhere, but it’s a fun town. No place full of college girls sucks.

It’s not bad. It’s a college town so there are a few things to do. Hunting and fishing in that part of the state is really good so there that.

I put it this way. I personally would live in Starkville before I lived anywhere in greater New Orleans

Except for what happened to Tua, Starkville has really grown on me. No offense to Slidell, but I'd choose Starkville over it most days of the week. Oh, and the women will be better looking than you think and the men will be fatter.

I can think of a lot of worse places to live than an SEC college town, or any decent sized college town for that matter.

Haven't read the entire thread but I'm sure some baw from West Monroe or Lake Charles is telling you how bad it will suck

Starkville/Columbus/West Point area is very nice and laid back.
The people are nice, real estate is reasonable and I see a minimum of litter.

The biggest drawback for me is the folks up there need to come to South Louisiana to learn how to cook.

Anthony's in West Point has some good Cajun-adjacent cooking.

I’m going to check them out next week when I go up there. Thanks.

One of my favorites is Petty’s on the main drag in Starkville. Delicious catfish and BBQ.

I have also met some prime women up there over the years.

Not if you enjoy cookouts, being around good people, fishing or hunting. Working for the University by chance?

You know how there isn't shite else to do in Baton Rouge except for LSU games?

Well, like that - except there's EVEN LESS to do AND the teams are shittier.

Source: Am State graduate.

(For real though - I actually love the Vegas and the surrounding area. But if you don't like small towns, you're gonna have a bad time.)

I’ve always enjoyed my time in Starkville. It’s not as bad as folks here put on.
