Welcome to the coast! We moved here (Pass Christian) from Baton Rouge in 2015. Love the slow pace here. We catch shrimp, fish and crabs off our pier. No traffic issues and we love hanging out at the Blind Tiger and Bacchus on the Beach.

That's a great place to live with a family (except when a Hurricane is coming). It's beautiful with breezes off the Gulf, plenty of entertainment at the Casinos, New Orleans just a short drive away, close enough to go to LSU football games, decent schools, right by a mediocre beach and a short drive from great beaches in Alabama and Florida, great food, cuisin' the coast, just an all-around great place to live as an adult.

Thanks I’ll need a builder eventually. I found a great realtor in PC that helped with my initial housing.

Absolutely on Garcia!

We were going to sign an agreement on a camp that they had just finished right after Katrina and another coonass beat us to it.

We ended up with one that another builder built- still nice, but he’s retired now- Thornton was his name.

Yep. They are good people. If one can wait on the 12 month waiting list it is well worth it. Also if you are gonna build unless you do the work yourself and not hire subs, you cannot beat their price. It’s crazy how much of a science they have home building down to.

Bought a place on the Jourdan in Kiln about a year ago. Love it out there - boating, fishing, crabbing.

Blind Tiger, Dan B's, Triple Tails, Buoy Bar - good spots for drinks and bar food. Cuz's Trapani's, North Beach, Raw Bar for nicer food...the whole marina area is blowing up. Dempsey's for decent seafood in Kiln. Shaggy's and McElroy's decent places in the Pass. Some pretty decent food in Ocean Springs too. Bacchus on the Beach, BR Prime (Beau Rivage) and Ruth Chris (Hard Rock) are great food.

IDK, it’s begging for a kitchen and a pool house.

Is that who is building on 2nd and Carroll Ave right now? They’re the top builders in town.

There are some nice houses going up right now, and not just in Old Town. The yacht club area has some nice lots. McDonald Lane is being developed as well.

$147 a sf living. $110 a sf under beam. Now obviously there’s things that can make that number a lot less or a lot more. Everything I’ve seen so far they do overkill compared to everyone else. The foundation especially.

quote:

little to do other than that except for the casinos

The people saying this obviously haven't been to the Bay in years since they rebuilt downtown

On water activities you have fishing/water sports/sailing/sandbars to hang out on etc

off water you have restaurants, bars, casinos, golf, festivals, antique shops, beach etc

Our place is on the Jourdan River, we love it
