Moving her senior year definitely isn't going to help that out.

That made me laugh. Thank you!

meh... it's just one year

it would be worse if she was a freshman or sophomore who has been in the same school system her entire life

If they have no other solution then of course. If they have the financial capability then it should be done. I mean more so the parents should sacrifice seeing each other everyday(being in different cities) for one year of the child's life(an important year at that). Even if it was jr and sr year I'd fell differently. It's just two semesters we are talking about here.

Winner.

As a kid I moved after 1st, 3rd, 4th and 8th Grades.

That was fricked up.

My kids moved zero times because I made that a priority.

We have a couple of kids at work doing this. One kid, her Dad's job got moved overseas. She's staying with family here until she finishes her senior year. Another's Mom's job was moved to Cinci and she drives to Cinci on the weekends while staying with an Aunt here.

Dude, I made up with you like 3 posts later in that thread. Was probably hidden by the epic arse pounding our defense was getting. Not unlike the epic asspounding OP's daughter is sure to receive post move.

I'd never speak to my parents again if they did something like that to me

Perhaps not. But you know what will? Your daughter's bowels. You know, cause of all the BBC.

My parents moved from SC to Ga before my senior year. Luckily, they gave me the choice to stay with a friend for my senior year. I am SO grateful they allowed me to do this. I would recommend you doing the same for your daughter. IMO, pretty cruel to make her miss her senior year and start all over for one year.

I moved to a different state after 10th grade and then moved to another state after 11th grade for my senior year, so 3 different HSs for my final 3 years.

All I can say is that it sucked at the time, but it paid dividends for my social game later in life. There is not a social situation now in which I'm uncomfortable.

My dad was in the army so I just had to deal with it.

Is she staying where you live at now for college? Get her an apt now. You can be gone. She can live there alone. You come visit whenever. When I was a sophomore they had a jr from Africa. Blackest guy I've ever seen. Anyway, his parents must have been loaded. They were still on the other side of the world he had a car and lived by himself in a place that they paid for at 17. Brah we got hammered at this kids. He made really good grades though. How much does she drink? Is she responsible ?

My kids moved like that with me but they both kind of enjoyed it. They move into new circles with ease. But it did cause them to see moving as the cure for any tough situation.

I moved into an apartment alone out of state from my parents in he first week August a few days before I turned 17 years old to start my senior year of High School. Being my own guardian I was able to go to school a full day for half a year and finish in Dec and allowed me to enroll in college that January...... it was a bitch trying to work to pay bills, party like a college student, but be in homeroom before the tardy bell in the mornings m-f though...

And I turned out fairly well wounded

Good luck OP, moving a kid in HS in their most formative years when they are building friendships and finding themselves can really frick'me up
