TLDR: moved into new house this past weekend, brought out my nice DeWalt cordless drill to put together furniture and bedframes. I specifically remember placing it back on top of my tool chest in the garage when I finished. Movers wrap up and we go about our day... later in the evening I need the drill for an application and it's nowhere to be found. Searched every nook and cranny of the house.

The manager of the crew claims none of his guys took it nor do they have any idea of where it went. Yet I specifically remember them having power drills of their own so the chances of one of them confusing it for one of theirs is quite high.

Am I screwed (pun intended) or should I keep pestering the moving company to either find it or compensate me? Will moving companies blacklist a customer for claiming a lost item? Would rather not eat the money for a new one from Home Depot.

Zero percent.

They will deny to the grave so they don’t lose their job. No reason to admit it.

They've already sold it on Facebook Marketplace for pennies on the dollar, you're screwed.

Yep, lol. Happened to me and I didn’t even waste the energy accusing the moving company. Just went to home depot.

I doubt it. I once left the manuscript to my off Broadway play "LA Cocina" on the back of a moving truck and the bastards took off with it. I'm still not finished with those assholes.

They're movers. Call and say you want to tip them or something. Just find out where they are and take one of their drills. Defeat them!

Sounds like you have an excuse to buy a new power tool

You are gonna feel like a real shithead when you find your misplaced drill in a couple days.

Did you ask your pool boy if he’s been drilling anything lately?

They kept other things, too. You just don't know it, yet.

The movers tried to steal my sound bar the last time we moved. They stuck it up in the truck and tried to hide it. Pieces of shite tried to play it off like they forgot about it.
