that's the line of thinking that she's outraged over.

Not in the slightest. She's outraged bc she's a mega count. Not just a regular run of the mill soccer mom count but a super version where she will flip you the bird if you don't let her out the school parking lot but in no way will that bitch let anyone pull in front of her. The same kind of count where if you ask her if she needs help in any way, shape or form she will tell you she's done it hundreds of times and proceeds to do it wrong anyway. The same kind of count that tells everyone she works harder than anyone at her jib but has taken off earlier than anyone in the office combined. She is a mega count and that's what her problem is.

The types grammar is awful. I would be more worried about that than the subject matter.
Stupid mom missed the point

I'll say this, school reading materials that are used for social engineering became pretty rampant after I was out of school.

This one is pretty harmless in that it seems to be attempting to be relatable to children who may have had similar experiences (Mom had taken time off from work to raise a baby and is now going back to work, a change that can be upsetting for children.)

Except that I think social engineering at schools is fraught with peril, this one doesn't seem too objectionable.

Google search turned up this that the mom wrote: Hubby is a
boss.

Lynn Polvino, a children's books editor at a Manhattan-based publishing house, was rightfully shocked by what she read when her daughter asked for help filling out a vocabulary worksheet about a mom returning to work. Polvino deftly put her editing skills to good use, righting multiple wrongs in one assignment.

I'm outraged that it teaches kids to complain about things that are normal. They don't need any help with that.

And you're the type that feels threatened over it for some reason.

As if that doesn't have an even stronger agenda!

Some people are fine with traditional gender roles. Some people demand total sharing of all duties between parents. The children's author seems to think that children never have anxiety over changing circumstances in their lives. She is inadvertently putting pressure on women and men to comply with her preferred vision of how to live.

What about all the kid's feelings who don't have fathers to cook their breakfast after mom returns to work? Did yall even think about how traumatized they would be.

How is this Anti-mom or anti woman working.

The story is a bout a girl realizing her mom going back to work is gonna be ok.

Fun fact, Dr Seuss wrote The Cat in the Hat because he felt like latchkey kids were under represented in kids lit and they might feel shitty about it.

So, he represents them by having them allow a mischievous cat to basically destroy their home while they sit by. Nice job, Doc.

I read this twice trying to figure out what is in it that someone would have a problem with.

The mother use to work in a big office. Evidently she quit her job when she had Lisa then decided to go back to work. One morning, Lisa had to be at school on time and her parents had to be at work on time. Because her mother now has a job, she has to rush in the morning instead of being able to slap dick around.

Lisa sounds like a spoiled brat because she had a terrible morning all because her mother didn't have time to give her all the attention she wanted. Then let that affect the rest of the day because all she was thinking about was how lonely she would be at home, without her mommy.

But when she got her, her mother was there. Her mother gave in to the spoiled brat by deciding to leave work early just so she could be with Lisa after school.. So of course Lisa feels better now.. Because she got her way.
